His Excellency the Governor in Council has been pleased to direct, under section 7 of the Public Health and Buildings Ordinance, 1903, Ordinance No. 1 of 1903, that the name of Mr. WILLIAM EWART DOUGLAS be added to the List of Authorized Architects published in Government Notification No. 117 of the 14th March, 1919.

NOTICE OF QUESTION.---Mr. POLLOCK gave notice that he will put the following question at the next meeting of the Council:--

"In view of the serious economic position which is being created by the continued raising of rents in the southern portion of the Kowloon Peninsula, will the Government state what steps it is taking with a view to controlling or regulating such raisings of rents?

His Excellency the Governor addressed the Council and made a statement on the subject.
