No. 381. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint FREDERICK GEORGE FIGG to act as Director of the Observatory during the absence on leave of Dr. WILLIAM DOBERCK with effect from the 28th ultimo.

No. 382.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint, un-ler the provisions of the New Territories (Land Court) Ordinance, 1900, Member of the New (Ordinance No. 4 of 1900), DAVID WILLIAM TRATMAN to be a Territories Land Court, with effect from the 5th instant.

No. 384 -His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint, under the provisions of Section 7 of the Public Health and Buildings Amend- ment Ordinance, 1903, (Ordinance No. 23 of 1903), ROBERT GARDNER MCEWEN, Sanitary Inspector (First Class), to be a Plague Inspector in succession to WILLIAM HENRY Woolley promoted, with effect from the 20th May.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.
No. 386.--It is hereby notified with reference to Government Notification No. 1053 of 1906, that the Eastern limit of the cable ground between the North Point of Hongkong and the South-East point of Kowloon Peninsula has been shifted Eastward to an average distance of about 400 yards from its former position, and is marked similarly to the former Eastern limit.
The wording of Government Notification No. 1053 is therefore entirely applicable to the extended cable ground.
