Min Reef Whistling Buoy : temporary removal for repair.

THE Min Reef Whistling Buoy will be removed for repair at the beginning of May, and a smaller Buoy painted in a similar manner with "Min on it, will temporarily take its place.

The Whistling Buoy will be replaced in its position at the beginning of June.

STORM SIGNAL REPEATING CODE.

Concerning date of establishment,

NOTICE is hereby given that the Storm Signal Repeating Code, arranged in co-operation with Sicawei Observatory to enable Lightstations to repeat Storm Warnings signalled by steamers, comes into force at the several Lightstations enumerated in the Code, on/or as soon after the 1st June next as circumstances permit.

This opportunity is taken to notify Captains of steamers that when distance and/or atmospheric conditions render it desirable to use Distant Signals, those of the International Code of Signals, as are indicated below, will be understood by our Lightkeepers to commu- nicate Storm Warnings, if a ball is exhibited from the foremast head.
