No. 302.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders will be received at this Office until Noon of Monday, the 13th May, for the letting of Crown Land opposite the Central Market, from the 1st June, 1907, to the 1st June, 1908, subject to the conditions specified below:-

Each tender should bear on the cover the words "Tender for lease of Crown Land opposite the Central Market," and must be accompanied by a receipt to the effect that the tenderer has deposited in the Colonial Treasury a sum equal to 3 months rent as a pledge of the bonâ fides of his offer which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown if the tenderer refuses to carry out his tender and comply with the conditions hereinafter contained, should the tender be accepted.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the highest or any tender.

Forms of tender and further particulars can be obtained from the Director of Public Works.

1. The area leased to be that tinted pink on a plan signed by the Director of Public Works and dated 9th May, 1903.

2. The amount of monthly Crown Rent offered to be stated in tender. In the event of any tender being accepted, the amount stated in such tender to be paid monthly in advance- into the Treasury.

3. Should the Lessee be allowed to remain in occupation of the land after the expiry of the lease the tenancy to become a monthly one and to be subject to termination at a month's notice.

4. On the termination of the lease, all structures erected by the Lessee to be cleared away and the ground to be left in the same condition it is now in. Rent to continue to be paid until the ground is handed over to the Director of Public Works in the condition stated. 5. No matsheds will be permitted to be erected on the ground, but sheds with boarded sides and tiled roofs may be erected.

6. No sheds for habitation will be permitted, except such as may be required for watch- men, not exceeding 4 in number.

7. Tenders must specify the purpose for which the land is to be used. It can be used for no other purpose than that specified, except the consent of the Governor be previously

obtained.

8. In the event of the infringement of any of the preceding conditions, the Governor shall have power to determine the lease forthwith.

9. The Lessee shall execute and deliver to the Government a lease in usual form of Crown Leases as modified by the foregoing special conditions.

Note. The land referred to above, is at present covered with sheds, &c., but these will be entirely cleared away by the 1st June.

No. 303.-Notice is hereby given that YUEN JOHNSON, of 1, Ice House Street, Victo- ria, in the Colony of Hongkong (MEE CHEUNG'S Photographic Studio), photographer of said establishment has on the 23rd day of April, 1907, applied for the registration in Hong- kong in the register of Proprietors of Copyright in Paintings, Drawings and Photographs of two (2) photos of Sir MATTHEW NATHAN'S farewell to Hongkong residents on Blake Pier, Hongkong, in the name of MEE CHEUNG who claims to be the proprietor thereof.

A facsimile of the said two (2) photos of Sir MATTHEW NATHAN'S farewell to Hongkong residents on Blake Pier, Hongkong, can be seen at the Office of the Registrar General of Hongkong.
