His Excellency the Governor then addressed the Council as to the future intentions of the Government.

Mr. CHATER replied.

ADJOURNMENT.-The Council then adjourned sine die.

it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:---

1. This Ordinance shall be read and construed with The Women and Girls' Protection Ordinance, 1890, (hereinafter referred to as the principal Ordinance) and with Ordinance No. 14 of 1891, entitled An Ordinance to amend "The Women and Girls' Protection Ordinance, 1890," (hereinafter referred to us the amendment Ordinance) as hereby amended.
