NOTICES TO MARINERS.
THE following copy of a telegram received from the Commonwealth Naval Board, Australia, is published:--
"Drifting mines recently found at Cape Flattery near Cooktown, another just found off Dove Island in Great North Eastward Channel, Torres Strait. These mines appear to have been drifting from New Zealand and Bass Strait enemies mine fields. As all mines laid have not been recovered by sweepings more mines may be drifting to Coral Sea and Torres Strait. Request that shipping using waters of Torres Strait inner Barrier and Coral Sea route should be warned by Press Notification to look for drift- ing mines."

Buoys will be moved.
NOTICE is hereby given that four Lighted Buoys, Naru-se, Taka-se, Mutsuredashi and Gomiyose-su, W. entrance to Shimonoseki Strait, will be occasionally moved from their due positions, during the course of dredging works in the vicinity of those Lighted Buoys.
Further notice will be given when the works have been completed.
