HARBOUR NOTIFICATION.

No. 9 of 1919.

Marking of Conservancy Works below Pootung Point, Shanghai Harbour. NOTICE is hereby given that conservancy training works along the Normal Line immediately below Pootung Point will be commenced forthwith.

The primary operation will be the sinking of fascine mattresses and caissons along the Normal Line which will be marked by piles about 600 feet apart. These piles will be surmounted by spherical wickerwork day-marks painted BLACK, and be lighted at night by red lights. Craft of all description are cautioned against attempting to pass between the line of piles and the Pootung shore, and are further instructed not to anchor within 150 feet of the line of piles as otherwise they will be in the way of the construc- tion operations.

Referring to the above, special notice is drawn to Clause 16 of the Harbour Regula- tions containing instructions to the effect that vessels passing conservancy works in course of construction shall proceed at slow speed.

Drinkwater Point" Light-vessel Replaced on her Station.

REFERRING to Special Notice to Mariners No. 550, notice is hereby given that the Drinkwater Point Light-vessel has been replaced on her station in the North Channel Entrance to the Yangtze River and retains her former characteristics.
