Clarence Strait.
East Vernon Island.-Light Buoy established Southward of.
WITH reference to Notice No. 11 of 1918, Mariners and others are hereby notified that:
(1) The Light Buoy showing a flashing white light is now permanently esta-
blished.
(2) The Light Buoy is established in a position southward of East Vernon Island instead of off the extremity of the Spit on the South-Western end, as formerly notified.
Position. The Light Buoy is moored in 16 fathoms of water, about 4 cables south- ward of the middle of East Vernon Island.
Lat. 12 05' S.; Long. 131° 053' E. on Chart No. 1095.
Description. A cylindrical Light Buoy with framework superstructure, 15 feet high, painted red and numbered "4," exhibiting a flashing white light showing one flash every six seconds, thus :--

Elevation.--12 feet. Power.-1,300 candles.
Visibility.-8 miles.
Note. The position of this buoy cannot be absolutely depended on, because it is liable to drift in the strong tidal currents experienced in this locality.
