HYDROGRAPHICAL MEMORANDUM No. 15.
The following information has been received :--
From H.M.S. "Iphigenia."
APPROACHES TO YANGTSE, NORTHERN CHANNEL.
The Tsungming Bank is reported to have extended to the southward in the neighbourhood of the Tsungming Bank Upper Buoy.
About two cables E. S. from this buoy there appears to be a steep-to bank with 6 feet of water, or less, oh it at Low Water.
Until this locality has been re-examined and re-buoyed, vessels should navigate with especial caution between the Tsungming Bank Upper Buoy and the Tsungming Bank Buoy, and these buoys should not be approached within less than two cables.

TIME BALL AT MANILA,
The time ball at Manila is now dropped at noon mean time of the Meridian of 120° E. No gun is now fired.
From Master of S.S. “Esmeralda.”
CHELANG POINT.
The S.S."Esmeralda" on passing Chelang Point struck something which was supposed to be a pinnacle rock. Chelang Point bearing at the time about N.E. by N. W. about 41⁄2 miles.

WEST BANGUEY CHANNEL, BALABOE STRAIT.
The German S.S. "Labuan" struck a reef in approximate Lat. 7° 18' 6" N., Long. 117° 3′ 7′′ E. from which point Banguey Peak bears S. 65° E. (magnetic).
Also the buoy marking Rifleman Reef is missing.
