Tenders will be received at this Office until noon of Friday, the 15th December, 1899, for the maintenance and repair of Waterworks inside the City of Victoria during the year 1900.

No work will be permitted on Sundays.

LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS No. 75.

Shoal between Tintao and Tunui, Min River of smaller size than previously notified etc.

Notice is hereby given that a detailed examination of the shoal patch reported as existing between Tintao (4) and Tunui (Ý|] *) [Admiralty chart No. 2400. The Bar and its approaches Min River] prove it to be about two and a half cables in a north-east and south-westerly direction and about one and a half cables in width, instead of as previously notified in Foochow Local Notice to Mariners No. 74. The centre and shoalest part of the patch is situated about three cables south of Rocky Point () and carries a depth of from eight to nine feet at low water of spring tides.

Vessels entering can use either of two channels:-the new channel passing near Rocky Point, or the chanuel with the fort (whitewashed) on Couding Island (1) just open of the east point of Mingan Pass (#) S. W. by S. S. A depth of from 15 to 16 feet at low water springs will be found in the first passage, and from 12 to 13 feet at low water springs in the second.
