Amendments were proposed and adopted in clauses 4, 6, 9, 10, and 11.

Further discussion on the 7th and 8th clauses was adjourned.

BILL ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE RATIsg Ordinance. 1888.-The Acting Attorney General moved the third reading of the Bill.

It is hereby notified that the 1900 Examination in connection with the "Ouseley" Scholarships for proficiency in Oriental languages will be held in London in the early part of July. Candidates for this examination, the subject of which will be Hindustani, should give notice of their intention to compete, as early as possible, to the Secretary. Ordinance No. 21 of 1899, entitled-An Ordinance for the prevention of the concealment of

Opium on board steamships.

Ordinance No. 22 of 1899, entitled---An Ordinance to further amend the Cattle Diseases,

Slaughter Houses and Markets Ordinances.
