That notices be sent from the Board to those owners of property who, on the 31st day of October, have failed to have their premises lime-washed and cleansed and that prosecutions be immediately instituted if those notices are not complied with.

Chinese Tenement Houses in accordance with modern Sanitation.-The Director of Public Works addressed the Board and moved-
That the Government be asked to offer a premium for the best design for a block of Chinese tenement houses, in accordance with modern views of sanitation, to be erected on one of the vacant lots in the resumed area of Taipingshan, and further to proceed to put up the buildings in accordance with the selected plan.
The Vice-President seconded.
The Medical Officer of Health addressed the Board aud moved as an amendment-
That the Government be asked to offer a premium for the best design for a block of Chinese tenement houses, in
accordance with modern views of sanitation.
The amendment was not seconded.
