The following letter and its enclosures from the Directors of the Tung-wá Hospital are published.

S-The undersigned Committee have the honour to state that, in accordance with the estab lished regulations, a public meeting of the members and of the Kái-fong of the whole of Hongkong was summoned on the 6th of the 11th Moon (the 18th December) for the public election of new Directors who should take over the management of all the affairs connected with the Tung-wa Hospital. The names of the twelve newly elected Directors, are now herewith submitted with a request that they may be forwarded to His Excellency the Governor for his information:-

Ho HI-SHANG, of Messrs. Jardine, Matheson & Co. WONG CHUK-YAU, of Messrs. E. D. Sassoon & Co. Ü PIK-U, of the San Kwong Hop Californian Hong. KWOK YIK-Ü, of the Tai Shing Paper Mill. KWOK SIU-LAU, of Banque de L'Indo-Chine.
KWAN TING-TUN, of the Shang Ki Cotton Yarn Firm.
Lo KING-U, of the Kwong Man Tseung Nam Pak Hong. TSANG YAN-PO, of the Kwong Fung Wo Kau Pat Hong.
Ü HI-TONG, of the Kwong Tung Un Opium Shop.
LO MAN-HIN, of the Sun Lung Piece Goods Shop.
FUNG SHAU-SHAN, of the Sui Yik Rice Shop.
CH'AN SING-TS'ÜN, of the U Cheung Pawnbrokers.
Further, the names of the three of the twelve Directors, who have been appointed to manage the financial affairs (of the Hospital), are subjoined :---

At Noon of the 13th day of the 11th Moon of the Mo Sut year (25th December) has been selected as the time for handing over the accounts, deeds and all the affairs of the Tung-wá Hospital to the management of the new Directors.
As is customary the undersigned will act as Assistant Directors this year, and they present this petition, as in duty bound, with the hope that you will peruse it.
A copy of the statement of the receipts and disbursements of the Hospital for the Ting Yau
year (1897) is also herewith submitted for your information. As a return shewing the number of patients discharged from the Hospital cured, of deaths, and of free patients, out-patients, free vaccinations and of destitutes received into the Hospital during last year was submitted to you on the 11th of the 12th Moon (3rd January, 1898), we beg that we may be excused from forwarding a second return on the present occasion.
