On the 9th at 11.50 a.-" The barometer has risen on the China coast and over the Philippines. The depression has probably passed to the Pacific to the E. of Japan. Pressure remains high over the China coast, with a slight gradient for NE winds on the coast and in the N. part of the China Sea." Forecast :- "moderate NE winds; fine."
On the 17th at 12.10 p." The barometer has fallen a little on the China coast, and is unchanged in the Philippines. Pressure is still slightly above the normal on the China coast and high over Japan. Low pressure lies over the Philippine Archipelago in about 13°, and extends, probably, west- wards in the China Sea. Gradients moderate for NE winds in S. China and in the N. part of the China Sea." Forecast" fresh NE winds; fine.'

On the 18th at 11.55 a. "The barometer has fallen moderately on the E. coast of China, and slightly on the S coast and over the Philippines. An elongated area of low pressure seems to be lying across the China Sea and Philippines in about 14° Lat. Pressure remains high over Japan. Gradients moderate for NE winds on the coast and in the N. part of the China Sea." Forecast:
fresh NE winds; fine."
On the 19th at 11.55 a.-- "The barometer has fallen on the China coast and over Japan. A depression has formed, apparently, between the E. coast of China and the Loochoos. It seems to be moving Northwards and will probably recurve over W. Japan. An elongated area of low pressure is still lying across the China Sea in about 15° Lat.” Forecast:-" fresh NE winds; fine."
On the 20th at 11.40 a.- The barometer has risen on the E. coast of China, fallen on the S. coast and over the Philippines. The depression, lying to the W. of the Loochoos yesterday, has probably moved NE towards Japan. A new typhoon, which will probably move towards WNW, has formed near the NE coast of Luzon. Gradients increasing for N and NE winds in S. China and in the N part of the China Sea.” Forecast N winds, increasing; fair."
On the 21st at 10.30 a. Red South Cone hoisted. At 11.20 a.- "The barometer has risen slightly on the China coast. The typhoon has entered the China Sea and appears to be now situated off the W. coast of Luzon in about 16° Lat., moving apparently WNW. The northern depression is probably moving ENE along the S coast of Japan. Iligh pressure over N. China with very strong monsoon on the coast." Forecast: NE winds, freshening considerably; squally, showery. N and NE gales in the N. part of the China Sea."

On the 22nd at 11.55 a. Red South Cone lowered.-" The barometer has risen in S. China and over Japan, and remains almost steady in the Philippines. The Northern depression, still lying in W. Japan, has decreased in intensity, and the typhoon near N. Luzon seems also to be filling up at present. Gradients rather steep for N and NE winds over the N. part of the China Sea.”

On the 23rd at 11.45 a. "The barometer has risen generally. Pressure is high over China, and low in the Pacific to the E of the Loochoos. Fresh monsoon on the China coast and in the N part of the China Sea." Forecast:- "moderate NE winds; fine."
On the 24th at 11.55 a. Barometric changes are slight. Pressure remains high over the interior of China, and low in the Pacific to E or SE of the Loochoos. Gradients slight to moderate with fresh monsoon on the coast and in the N part of the China Sea." Forecast:-"moderate NE winds; fine."
On the 25th at 11.50 a "The barometer has fallen slightly on the China coast. The typhoon is situated to the S. of the Loochoos, and apparently moving slowly Westwards at present. Pressure is high over the interior of China and in the Pacific to the E of Japan. Gradients slight to moderate for N and NE winds on the China coast.” Forecast:-" N winds, light or moderate; fine."
On the 26th at 11.55 a.-“The barometer is inclined to fall on the China coast, and to rise in the Philippines. The depression seems to be still lying to the E. of Formosa, apparently moving very slowly. Gradients slight to moderate for N and NF winds on the China coast.” Forecast:- "N or varying winds, light; fine."
On the 27th at 11.55 a.- "Ihe barometer has fallen in the Formosa Channel, risen slightly else- where on the China coast and also over the Philippines. The typhoon seems to be slowly approaching the E coast of Formosa at present, but there is some probability that it may recurve. Another depression lies in the N part of the Sea of Japan. High pressure covers the interior of China. Gradients rather steep with strong N and NE winds on the China coast, and gales in the Formosa Channel." Forecast-"fresh N winds; fine."
On the 28th at 11.55 a.--'
--The barometer has fallen in E. Japan, risen elsewhere except in the Philippines. The depression lying near S. Formosa yesterday seems to have filled up. The Northern depression has moved Eastward over NE Japan. High pressure area over China. Gradients rather steep with strong monsoon on the coast and in the N part of the China Sea.” Forecast: winds; fair."
