It is hereby notified that Her Majesty has not been advised to exercise her power of disallowance with respect to the following Ordinance :-

Ordinance No. 8 of 1899, entitled-An Ordinance to provide for the performance of Divine:

Worship and other Services in accordance with th Rites and Ceremonies of the Church of England. Saint John's Cathedral Church at Victoria and else- where in this Colony; for the Incorporation of a Church Body in which the said Cathedral Church shall be vested and by which it shall be administered; and for other purposes connected with the said Cathe- dral Church.

SIR,-With reference to my Circular despatch of the 13th April, 1898, respecting the termination of the Treaty of Friendship, Commerce, and Navigation, between Her Majesty and the Republic of Ecuador, signed at Quito on the 18th October, 1880, I have the honour to inform you that the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs has received a telegram, dated the 23rd April, 1899, from Her Majesty's Minister at Lima, reporting that the expiration of the Treaty on April 1st has been notified by the Minister for Foreign Affairs to the Ecuadorcan Government, who rusts that a new treaty may shortly be made.
