(1) before being licensed as new vehicles;

(2) on change of ownership;

(3) once monthly.

All reasonable facilities shall be given to every such inspecting officer by the licensee and the driver, and his reasonable requirements shall be complied with by them.

(9) by the rescission of regulation 86 and the substitution therefor of the following

regulation,

86. A motor vehicle shall not exceed seven feet six inches in width between its extreme projecting points.

(10) by the addition to and at the end of regulation 87 of the following,-

'The brakes of a motor vehicle may be tested by any European police officer of the Traffic sub-department not below the rank of sergeant. The licensee and the driver shall give all reasonable facilities for such testing, and the occupants (if any) of the vehicle shall comply with all reasonable requirements of the police officer. Cars may be stopped on the road for such testing of brakes, but, ordinarily, cars will not be stopped for brake tests while making a journey."

(11) by the addition to and at the end of regulation 90 of the following paragraph,-

"This regulation shall not apply to motor omnibuses. See regulation

130."

(12) by the substitution of the words "fifteen miles per hour

twenty miles per hour" in regulation 90A.

(13) by the insertion, next after the word "vehicle" at the end of regulation 90B,

of the following words,--

nor except with permission as aforesaid shall the total number of such employees in or upon the vehicle exceed six".

(14) by the renumbering of regulations 95A and 95B so that the former beco mes

95B and the latter becomes 950.

(15) by the insertion, next after regulation 95, of the following regulation,-

95A. Commercial motor vehicles shall be inspected by a police officer authorised by the Inspector General of Police for the purpose—

(1) before being licensed as new vehicles;

(2) on change of ownership;

(3) once monthly.

(16) by the rescission of line 3 of regulation 101 and the substitution therefor of

the following,-

"(1) For a distance not exceeding one mile..

(17) by the rescission of all the words commencing "Notice of ", in line 5 of regulation 125, to the end of such regulation and the substitution therefor of the following words,-

"Notice of such closing will be inserted in at least two English and two Chinese daily newspapers published in the Colony ".

(18) by the insertion, next after regulation 127, of the following regulation,-

127A. The driver of a vehicle passing through any junction or along any road in which there is a centrally placed structure, erection or traffic sign shall only use that part of the roadway on his own left side thereof. (19) by the insertion in and at the end of regulation 129 of the following,-

"(5) that his vehicle is provided with a mechanical signalling device, to the satisfaction of the Inspector General of Police, in good working order, easily seen from the rear, and to be lighted at night, for indicating
