5. The Colonial Secretary laid on the table the Report of the Finance Committee-
(No. 6), dated the 7th May, 1931, and moved its adoption.

MOTIONS.
6. The Colonial Secretary moved the following resolution :-
That this Council approves of the expenditure in the year 1928 from the surplus balances of the Colony of the sum of $692,783, in respect of the construction of the Kai Tak Aerodrome, such sum being recoverable from the first instalment of the contribution made by the Imperial Government.'
The Colonial Treasurer seconded.

7. Births and Deaths Registration Amendment Bill.-The Attorney General address- ed the Council and moved the First reading of a Bill intituled "An Ordi- nance to amend the law relating to the Registration of Births and Deaths." The Colonial Secretary seconded.

8. Bankruptcy Bill.-The Attorney General moved the Second reading of the Bill
intituled "An Ordinance to amend the law relating to Bankruptcy."

In the short title the figures '1931' were substituted for the figures '1930'. In the marginal note to Clause 88 the word 'Trustee' was substituted for the
word Trutee'.
