No. 231.-The instrument of ratification by His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom of the International Convention for the Unification of Rules relating to Bills of Lading which was signed at Brussels on the 25th of August, 1924, was formally deposited with the Belgian Government on the 2nd of June, 1930.
The necessary legislation for giving effect to the Convention in this Colony was adopted by the Carriage of Goods by Sea Ordinance, 1928, Ordinance No. 17 of 1928, and the necessary steps have been taken with regard to the same in accordance with the Convention.
It is hereby notified that the Convention will accordingly apply to this Colony as from the 2nd of June next.
