THE DANGEROUS DRUGS ORDINANCE, 1923.
(ORDINANCE No. 22 or 1923).
7HEREAS by section 5 (4) of the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, 1923, power is conferred on the Governor in Council to declare that the said Ordinance shall apply to any drug of whatever kind in the same manner as it applies to the drugs men- tioned in section 5 (1) of the said Ordinance if it appears to the Governor in Council that the drug is or is likely to be productive, if improperly used, of ill effects substan- tially of the same character or nature as or analogous to those produced by morphine or
cocaine :
And whereas it appears to the Governor in Council that di-hydro-morphinone and its salts and any preparation, admixture, extract or other substance containing any propor- tion of di-hydro-morphinone are productive, if improperly used, of ill effects substantially of the same character or nature as or analogous to those produced by morphine or cocaine :
Now, therefore, the Governor in Council, in pursuance of the power conferred upon him by section 5 (4) of the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, 1923, hereby declares that the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, 1923, shall henceforth apply to di-hydro-morphinone and its salts and any preparation, admixture, extract or other substance containing any pro- portion of di-hydro-morphinone.

Regulation made by the Governor in Council under section 4 of the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, 1923, Ordinance No. 22 of 1923, on the 11th day of March, 1931.
The regulations made by the Governor in Council under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, 1923, and set forth on pages 810 to 821 of the Regulations of Hong Kong, 1844-1925, amended as appears in Government Notifications Nos. 191 of 1928, 133 of 1929 and 63 of 1930, are hereby further amended as follows,-
(1) regulation 2-on page 810-is further amended by the insertion of
hydro-morphinone," next after "esters of morphine," in line 2.
"di-
(2) regulation 9-on page 814--is further amended by the insertion of "(b3) di-hydro-morphinone and substances containing it," next after “ (b1) esters of morphine and substances containing them," in line 4 of provi- sion (2) of such regulation.
