The Council met pursuant to adjournment.

PLACES OF PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENT REGULATION BILL.The Attorney General addressed the Council and moved the Second reading of the Bill intituled An Ordinance to consolidate and amend the law relating to Places of Public Entertainment.

The Colonial Secretary seconded.

Mr. ALABASTER and His Excellency the Governor addressed the Council. Question-put and agreed to.

On the motion of the Attorney General, it was agreed that the words or matshed" be inserted after the word "building" in the second and fifth lines of section 3.

Mr. ALABASTER moved that section 6 be deleted and that the following be substi-

tuted therefor :-

The regulations contained in the Schedule shalf govern all places of public entertainment."

The amendment was not seconded.

On the motion of the Attorney General, it was agreed that section 6 be re-num- bered "6(a)", that in sub-section (6) the words "peace and" be inserted before the words "good order ", and that the following new section "6 (b)” be inserted :-

(b.) All regulations made as aforesaid shall be laid before the Legislative Council at the first meeting after they have been made; and if a resolution is passed at the next meeting after they have been so laid before the Legislative Council praying that any regulation shall be annulled, such regulation shall thenceforth be void, but without prejudice to to anything done thereunder.

On Council resuming, the Attorney General reported that the Bill had passed through Committee with amendments and moved that it be read a third time.

The Colonial Secretary seconded.

Question-put and agreed to.

Bill read a third time and passed.

ADJOURNMENT.-The Council then adjourned sine die.
