The rainfall for the month of October at the Botanical Gardens was 4.66 days, at the Matilda Hospital, Mount Kellett, it was 4'10ins. on 8 days, and at the Police Station, Taipo, it was 3'80s on 10 days.

The mean temperature for October, 74°2, was the lowest on record, the previous lowest being 74°3 in 1911. The mean of the daily maxima, 78°5, was the lowest on record since 1911 when it was 78°.2. The mean of the daily minima, 71°0, was also the lowest since 1911. It was 70°8 in that year.
