An Ordinance to amend the law relating to the of arrest possessed by revenue
powers officers.
BE it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Revenue Short title. Officers Power of Arrest Amendment Ordinance, 1930.
2. The First Schedule to the Revenue Officers Power Amendment
of Ordinance of Arrest Ordinance, 1917, is amended by the addition No. 2 of at the end thereof of the following figures and words:— 1917,

First Schedule.
3. The Second Schedule to the Revenue Officers Amendment Power of Arrest Ordinance, 1917, is amended:-
of Ordinance No. 2 of 1917,
(i) by the deletion of the figures and words “6 of Second
1900. Post Office Ordinance, 1900." and by Schedule. the substitution therefor of the figures and words "7 of 1926. Post Office Ordinance, 1926."
(ii) by the addition at the end thereof of the figures and words "4 of 1930 Motor Spirit Ordinance, 1930."
of Ordinance No. 4 of 1930, s. 40.
4. Section 40 of the Motor Spirit Ordinance, 1930, Amendment is amended by the deletion of the words "into cus- tody in the penultimate line thereof and by the substitution therefor of the words "to a police station in order that he may be brought before a magistrate to be dealt with according to law".
5. Sub-section (2) of section 43 of the Motor Spirit Amendment Ordinance, 1930, is amended by the deletion of the of Ordinance words "into custody" in the penultimate line thereof No. of
1930, and by the substitution therefor of the words "to a s. 43 (2). police station in order that he may be brought before a magistrate to be dealt with according to law".
Objects and Prasons.
Sections 2 and 3 add the recent Motor Spirit Ordi- nance to the Schedule in the Revenue Officers Power of Arrest Ordinance, 1917, the Second Schedule of which is also amended by substituting the Post Office Ordi- nance, 1926 for the Post Office Ordinance, 1900 which it replaced. Sections 4 and 5 clarify the expression into custody" which were used in sections 40 and 43 of the Motor Spirit Ordinance, 1930.
