APPOINTMENTS, &c.

No. 433.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Lieutenant-Colonel and Brevet-Colonel LAWRENCE HUMPHRY, C.M.G., R.A.M.C., to be a Member of the Sanitary Board during the absence of Lieutenant- Colonel G. B. CRISP, R.A.M.C., with effect from the 11th September, 1919.

No. 434.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint, under Section 10 of the Medical Registration Ordinance, 1884, Ordi- nance No. 1 of 1881, Lieutenant-Colonel and Brovet-Colonel LAWRENCE HUMPHRY, C.M.G., R.A.M.C., to be a Member of the Medical Board during the absence of Lieutenant- Colonel G. B. CRISP, R.A.M.C., with effect from the 11th September, 1919.

At the commencement of Peace Celebrations on the 19th July, the following resolu- tion was passed by the Executive and Legislative Councils:-

The Executive and Legislative Councils assembled in joint session, on behalf of the people of the Colony of Hongkong, desire to tender to His Majesty the KING a humble expression of their loyalty and devotion, and their . respectful and heartfelt congratulations on the attainment, in conjunction with the Allied and associated Powers, of a just and victorious peace. It is their fervent hope that the whole Empire, united by bonds of mutual sympathy and self-sacrifice, is about to enter on a new era of progress and prosperity.

I should be glad if this resolution may be submitted to His Majesty.
