An Ordinance to consolidate and amend the
law relating to the District Watch Force.
BE it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the District Short title. Watch Force Ordinance, 1930.
2.-(1) The Governor may appoint any person to Appointment membership of the District Watch Committee.

(2) Such persons shall hold office for such period Committee. as the Governor may direct.
(3) The Governor may at any time revoke the appointment of any member of the District Watch Committee.
(4) The Secretary for Chinese Affairs shall be ea officio Chairman of the District Watch Committee.
3. The Committee may appoint any number of Appointment persons to fill the offices of Chief Watchmen or of of Chief Watchmen; and every such Chief Watchman and Watchmen Watchman shall be under the control of the Committee Watchmen. and shall have all the powers and authorities of a constable.

4. The Committee, with the approval of the Rules for Governor in Council, shall make rules to be observed Watchmen. by the said Watchmen.
5. The Committee may remove any Chief or other Committee Watchman from the district to which he has been may remove appointed to any other district, may summarily dismiss Watchmen. him, and may also inflict upon him any fine not exceeding ten dollars for misconduct.
6. Every person who, not being a Chief Watchman Penalty for or Watchman appointed under this Ordinance, puts on Impersona- the dress or takes the name designation or character tion. of a Chief Watchman or Watchman for the purpose of thereby obtaining admission into any house or other place, or of doing or procuring to be done any act which a Chief Watchman or Watchman would be entitled to do or procure to be done of his own authority, or for any other unlawful purpose, shall upon summary conviction be liable to a fine not exceeding two hundred and fifty dollars and to impri- sonment for any term not exceeding six months.
7. Part IV of the Regulation of Chinese Ordinance, Repeal 1888, is hereby repealed.
