The Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899, Ordinance No. 10 of 1899, Table L, Quarantine Regulations.

It is hereby proclaimed by order of His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government in Council that Foochow is a place at which an infectious or contagious disease prevails.

Regulations mad by the Officer Administering the Government in Council under section 4 of the Marine Stores Protection Ordinance, 1919, Ordinance No. 13 of 1919, on the 25th day of July, 1919.

Dealers in Marine Stores.

1. The fee for each licence to carry on the business of a dealer in Marine Stores shall be $360 per annum payable by equal quarterly payments, each quarterly payment to be made in advance; and every licensee shall furnish a bond, with two sureties, in the sum of $1,000 conditioned for the due observance by the licensee of the law affecting such dealers and for the performance and observance of the conditions of the licence, and the regulations from time to time affecting the same. Provided always that a licensee may pay the whole amount of the fee in advance in which case he shall not be called upon to furnish such bond.

Every dealer in Marine Stores shall also enter into such a bond as is referred to in Regulation 8 for every collector, who applies for a licence through him.

2. Every dealer in Marine Stores shall have his name with the words "Dealer in Marine Stores" painted distinctly in letters not less than 34 inches long on a board to be hung up conspicuously in front of each of his registered premises.

3. Any such shop may only be open from the 1st October to 31st March from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from 1st April to 30th September from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Every such licensee shall keep books in the form and manner liereinafter shown in Form A or in such other form as the Governor may direct and shall enter therein the name of every person from om he purchases any articles, the house number, name of street and district in which such person dwells together with an intelligible description of the articles and time at which it was sold with the price paid therefor, and he shall also attach the number of purchase to each article which is $3 or more in value.

6. No trade or business other than that of a dealer in Marine Stores shall be carried on in any shop licensed under these regulations, and no provisions of any kind shall be dealt in or bought or sold by a dealer in Marine Stores, in the course of his business.
