No. 272. It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government in Council has, under Section 7 of the Holidays Ordinance, 1912, Ordi- nance No. 5 of 1912, appointed Tuesday, the 1st day of July, 1919, to be observed as a General Holiday.

Rule 41 of the rules made by the Governor in Council under the above Ordinance "Chrome and subsequently amended is further amended by the transfer of the heading Ore" in the Schedule to the rule from Class (B) to Class (C).

No. 274. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Major G. H. WAKEMAN, V.D., temporarily to be Administrative Com- mandant of the Hongkong Defence Corps, vice Major H. A. MORGAN, resigned, with effect from the 1st May, 1919.

No. 275.--With reference to Government Notification No. 271 of the 13th June, 1919, it is hereby notified that His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has declared Mr. HORACE PERCY SMITH to be duly elected a Member of the Licensing Board during the absence from the Colony of Mr. THOMAS FREDERICK HOUGH, with effect from the 18th June, 1919, in accordance with the rules governing the election of Justices of the Peace to serve on the Board.
