The following notice issued by the Medical Officer in charge, the Consulate General of the United States of America, is published for information :
Subject: Small-pox Vaccination.
TO MASTERS, OWNERS AND AGENTS OF VESSELS AND OTHERS
CONCERNED.
This Office is in receipt of Cable instructions from the Chief Quarantine Officer at Manila requiring vaccination of all passengers embarking at Hong Kong and bound for the Philippine Islands.
Accordingly, effective to-day and until further notice, this Office will require at time of the usual medical inspection on board ship before departure to muster all cabin and steerage passengers and they must show authentic proof of vaccination.
Vaccination certificates issued within one year will be accepted.
The above will also include all members of crew signed on at Hong Kong.
