Inspections outside the ports from 1st April. Steerage passengers must comply with the vaccination require- ments. Cabin passengers must produce a vacciua- tion certificate or be vaccinated by ships doctor or quarantine authorities.
Vessels detained at river mouth and passengers and crew vaccinated unless they can produce evidence of successful recent vaccination.

FIRE BRIGADE DEPARTMENT.
No. S. 344. It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the purchase of No. 2 Fire Float", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Friday, the 2nd day of November, 1928.
The vessel is a twin-screw steam fire and salvage launch, length 80 ft., breadth 15 ft., depth moulded 6 ft. 6 ins., fitted with 2 boilers, 2 main pumps each of 1,000 gallons per minute pumping capacity, with four 4" deliveries, eight 23" deliveries, and 1 large monitor capable of throwing a jet of water 150 feet high, 1 injector and service pump, and a steam driven dynamo. The electric lighting which is fitted throughout includes a powerful searchlight.
The vessel, which is in commission, can be seen at the Jubilee Street Pier, Hong Kong.
