NOTICE is hereby given that the undersigned intends at an early date to apply to the Legislative Council of Hong Kong for a bill incorporating the Secretary for Chinese Affairs.

A BILL

INTITULED

An Ordinance to provide for the incorporation

of the Secretary for Chinese Affairs.

BE it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Secretary for Short title. Chinese Affairs Incorporation Ordinance, 1928.

2. The person for the time being performing the duties Incorporation. of the office of Secretary for Chinese Affairs shall be a of the corporation sole (hereinafter called the corporation), and Secretary shall have the name of The Secretary for Chinese Affairs for Chinese Incorporated and by that naine shall and may sue and be sued in all courts in this Colony and shall and may have and use a common seal.

Affairs.

3.--(1) The corporation shall have power to acquire, Powers of accept leases of, purchase, take, hold and enjoy any lands, corporation. buildings, messages, or tenements of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever sirunted, and also to invest moneys upon mortgage of any lands, buildings, messuages, or tenements, or upon the mortgages, debentures, stocks, funds, shares or securities of any government, municipality, corporation or company, and also to purchase, acquire and possess goods and chattels of what nature and kind soever.

(2) The corporation shall further have power by deed under its seal to grant, sell, convey, assign, surrender, exchange, partition, yield up, mortgage, demise, reassign, transfer or otherwise dispose of any lands, buildings, messuages, tenements, mortgages, debentures, stocks, funds, shares or securities, or other goods and chattels whatsoever, which are for the time being vested in or belonging to the corporation upon such terms as to the corporation may seem fit.

4. Notwithstanding any change in the occupant of the Property corporation, whether on account of death, departure on and rights

transferred leave, return from leave, temporary employment elsewhere, to corporation resumption of duties, new appointment, or other cause to vest or whatsoever, and notwithstanding the nature of the pro- remain vested perty or rights, all property and rights whatsoever, trans- in corporation
