SINGAPORE--KEPPEL HARBOUR-OBSTRUCTIONS.
Navigable Channels-Buoys Established-Directions.
Former Notices.--No. 186/1940 of the 12th September, 1940, No. 202/1940 of the 28th October, 1940, No. 214/1940 of the 16th November, 1940, and No. 223/1940 of the 28th November, 1940, all hereby cancelled.
1. Entrances.
Position.-Eastern Entrance to Keppel Harbour between No. 18 Beacon and
the eastern extremity of East Wharf.
Details.-Obstruction laid.
Directions.(1).—(a) The eastern entrance to Keppel Harbour is between
the following two positions:-

'A 162° distant 450 feet from the southeastern corner of East Wharf, and marked by a Black cylin- drical buoy.
"B" 236° distant 600 feet from position "A", and
marked by three Black cylindrical buoys.
Note: A Black cylindrical buoy has also been laid in position, 085° distant 600 feet from position "A".
(b) No vessels are to use this entrance to Keppel Harbour during weather of low visibility, or whilst the arms of the semaphore on East Wharf are raised to form a "V".
Note:-Attention is drawn to the Notice Boards on East Wharf
(2) The eastern entrance to Selat Sengkir is southwards of three Black cylindrical buoys laid in position 175° distant 450 feet from No. 18 Beacon.
Remarks. (a) Speed must be reduced to a minimum consistent with safety when navigating in the vicinity of these Entrances, and vessels approaching Keppel Harbour from the Eastwards must see that the channels are clear before entering.
(b) Neither of the above Entrances are lighted.
2. Light re-established.
Position. Lat. 1° 15′ 45" N., Long. 103° 50′ 45′′ E. (Approx.).
Details.-The Red Flashing light on the end of the sunken hulks has been
re-established.
3. Prohibited Anchorage.
Position. An area bounded on the west by a line running 222° from the southern end of the sunken hulks off East Wharf to Blakang Mati, and on the east by a line running 034° from No. 18 Beacon to East Wharf.
Details. Anchoring is prohibited in this area except in case of emergency.
