NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.

1. Firing practice, as under, is notified for 16th December, 1940:-

(a) Anti-Aircraft firing practice by II. M. Royal Navy between the hours of

1030 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. in the north-eastern area of the Island.

Firing Area "B" will be affected.

Alternative date-20th December, 1940.

(b) Light gun firing practice between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00

midnight.

Firing Areas "I)" and E" will be affected.

2. Firing practice, as under, is notified for 17th December, 1940:-

(a) Heavy gun Anti-Aircraft firing practice between the hours of 6.00 p.m.

and 9.00 p.m. in the southern area of the Island.

Firing Areas "C" and "D" will be affected.

(b) Light gun firing practice between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00

midnight.

Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.

3. Wednesday, 18th December, 1940, is reserved as an alternative date for heavy gun firing practice notified as for 11th December, 1940, between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Firing Area "C" is affected.

4. Firing practice, as under, is notified for 19th December, 1910 :-

(a) Heavy gun firing practice between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 9.00 p.m.

in the southern area of the Island.

Firing Areas "C" and "D" will be affected.

(b) Light gun firing practice between the hours of 10.30 p.m. and 4.00 p.m.

Firing Areas "C" and "D" will be affected.

(c) Light gun firing practice between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00

midnight.

Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.

5. Light gun firing practice will be carried out between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00 midnight on 20th December, 1940.

Firing Areas "D" and E will be affected.

6. In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, misters of vessels and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the firing areas affected or by consenting to be towed out of the firing area, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.
