No. S. 440.

NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.

1. Heavy gun firing practice will be carried out between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. on 11th September, 1940.

Firing Area "A" will be affected.

2. Heavy gun firing practice will be carried out between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. on 12th September, 1940.

Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.

3. Heavy gun firing practice will be carried out from selected positions in the Northern and Eastern areas of the Island between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. on 13th September, 1940.

4. Firing will take place into an area approximately of a 1000 yards circle with MAKONG ISLAND as the centre. This circle will be deemed to include any land within the circle and arrangements for clearing same will be made by the Military Authorities.
