No. S. 315. It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for repairs to No. 5 Police Launch", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 15th day of July, 1940.
A list of work may be obtained at the Superintending Engineer's Office, Govern- ment Slipway, Yaumati.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
The work to be carried out to the satisfaction of the Harbour Master and to be duly completed within the number of working days specified by the tender to commence from the date of handing over of the launch to tenderers for repair; failing completion within such time deduction will be made from the contract price, by way of liquidated damages for delay, at the rate of $30 for each and every subsequent day until and including the date of due completion of the work.

PRISONS DEPARTMENT.
No. S. 316.--It is hereby notified that separate tenders in triplicate, which should be sealed and clearly marked "Tender for the supply of Rations to Indian Prison Staff " for the supply and delivery of the articles therein mentioned as required to the Hong Kong Prison at Stanley, the Female Prison at Laichikok, Victoria Remand Prison Hong Kong or elsewhere within the Colony if required, from the 1st September, 1940 to the 31st March, 1941 inclusive, will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 15th July, 1940.
No tender will be considered unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited with the Accountant-General the sum of $100 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if such person refuses to carry out his tender.

For forms of tender and any other information apply at the Hong Kong Prison, Stanley. Tenderers who so desire may submit alternative tenders for varying rates of exchange.
The successful tenderer will be required to sign an agreement and to give security to the satisfaction of the Government in the sum of $500.
