No. S. 245.-Tenders are invited for the purchase of the old steam launch "H.D. 4".

The launch will be sold as she lies at the Government Slipway, Yaumati, complete with engine and boiler and may be seen on application to the Superintending Engineer, Yaumati.

The approximate dimensions of the launch are as follows:

Sealed tenders in triplicate which should be marked "Tender for the purchase of S.L. H.D. 4'", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 3rd day of June, 1940.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the highest or any tender.

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT.

No. S. 246.--It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should. be clearly marked "Tender for Causeway Bay Widening", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 3rd day of June, 1940.

The work comprises the supplying, creosoting and driving of timber sheet piles along with the construction of a granite rubble pitched slope set and pointed in cement. mortar at Causeway Bay for a length of approximate 1,480 feet and all other contingent works.

As security for the proper performance of the works under this contract, the successful tenderer will be required to deposit, in cash, a sum of $1,000 with the Accountant-General.

Any tenderer may be required as a condition of the consideration or acceptance of his tender to supply full particulars of the constitution of his firm.

For form of tender, specification and further particulars apply at this Office.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
