NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.
1. Light gun firing practice will be carried out between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12 midnight on 6th, 7th, 9th and 10th May, 1940.
Firing Area "E" will be affected.
2. In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of vessels and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the firing area affected, or by consenting to be towed out of the firing area, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.

HONG KONG WATERS CHU LU KOK CHANNEL-SURVEY OF.
Mariners are bereby informed that, from and including the 29th April, 1940, and until further notice, a hydrographic survey of the Chu Lu Kok Channel will be in progress within the following limits:-
Eastern Limit
A straight line joining the following positions:---
Lat. 22° 18′ 48′′ N., long. 113° 56′ 21′′ E. Lat. 22° 17′ 51′′ N., long. 113° 57′ 15′′ E.
Western Limit
A straight line joining the following positions :-
Lat. 22° 17′ 42′′ N., long. 113° 53′ 36′′ E.
Lat. 22° 18' 15" N., long. 113° 54′ 15′′ E.
2. Craft employed in connection with the survey will fly a red flag, and vessels navigating in the vicinity should reduce speed and proceed with caution, paying parti- cular attention to any instructions given by the senior surveyor.
