An Ordinance to amend further the Rating Ordinance, 1901.
BE it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Rating (No. 2) Short title. Amendment Ordinance, 1939.

2. Paragraph (k) of section 2 of the Rating Ordinance, Amendment 1901, is amended by the substitution of the words "1st day of April in any year to the 31st day of March" for the words
1st day of July in any year to the 30th day of June".
3. Section 7 of the Rating Ordinance, 1901, is amended by the substitution of the words "31st day of January" for the words "30th day of April”.
4. Section 29 of the Rating Ordinance, 1901, is amended by the substitution of the words

Objects and Reasons.
The objects of the amendments to the principal Ordin- ance effected by this Bill is to make the rating year coincide with the new financial year.
