No. S. 396.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in quintuplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for repairs to No. 1 Fire Float will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 28th day of August, 1939.

A list of work may be obtained at the Assistant Government Marine Surveyor's Office, Government Slipway, Yaumati.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

The work to be carried out to the satisfaction of the Harbour Master and to be duly completed within the number of working days specified by the tender to commence from the date of handing over of the fire float to tenderers for repair; failing completion within such time deduction will be made from the contract price, by way of liquidated damages for delay, at the rate of $30 for each and every subsequent day until and includ- ing the date of due completion of the work.

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT.

No. S. 397.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Construction of a Granite Rubble Faced Sea Wall at Hung Hom Store", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 21st day of August, 1939. The work comprises the building of a granite faced sea wall for a length of 55 feet at Hung Hom Store together with the filling in of an old slipway with approved material and contingent works.

As security for the proper performance of the works under this contract, the successful tenderer will be required to deposit, in cash, a sum of $500 with the

Accountant-General.

Any tenderer may be required as a condition of the consideration or acceptance of his tender to supply full particulars of the constitution of his firm.

For form of tender, specification and further particulars apply at this Office.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

No. S. 398.—It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Shing Mun Rapid Gravity Filtration Plant (4th Section)", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 28th day of August, 1939. The work consists of the construction of eight vibrated reinforced concrete rapid gravity filter beds and contingent works.

As security for the proper performance of the works under this contract, the uccessful tenderer will be required to deposit, in cash, a sum of $2,000 with the Accountant-General.
