No. S. 295.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Sand Bags", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 17th day of July, 1939, for the supply and delivery of three and a half million Army Pattern Sand Bags, measuring 33 inches by 14 inches when empty. They are to be made of jute bagging, each sand bag weighing approxi- mately 6 ounces.
Tenderers must produce with each tender a receipt that they have deposited with the Accountant-General at the Treasury the sum of Dollars Twenty ($20) as a pledge of the bona fides of their tender, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if any tenderer fails or refuses to carry out his tender, should such tender be accepted. The deposit shall be returned to any tenderer whose tender is not accepted.
Successful tenderers may be required to deposit with the Accountant-General the sum prescribed in the respective Forms of Tender as security for the due and faithful performance of the Contract.
Forms of Tender and further particulars may be obtained at the Office of the Controller of Stores, Government Stores Department, Bullock Lane, Wanchai.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender, and reserves the right to accept ALL OR ANY PART OF EACH SPECIFICATION.

SALE OF PLANT AND SURPLUS STORES.
No. S. 296.-The Government Stores Department is prepared to receive Tenders for the Purchase of Plant and Surplus Stores from the Shing Mun Construction Works, comprising:-
5 Ton Henderson Cableways, 6 Ton Karrier Lorries, Climax-Quarry Drills, Hammer Drills, Hand Hammers and Drill Sharpeners, Continuous Bucket Elevator, Vertical Generators, Concrete Mixers, Pulverizer No. 3 Texrope drive and Miscellaneous items.
The items can be seen at the places named in the Specification, and, as each Lot must be taken as it lies, intending offerers are requested to inspect same before tendering.
Each Tenderer must produce with his tender a receipt that he has deposited with the Accountant-General the sum of $50 (dollars fifty) as a pledge of the bona fides of his tender. The said deposit shall be forfeited to the Crown should the tenderer refuse or fail to carry out to the satisfaction of the Government any tender which shall be accepted.
The deposit shall be returned to any tenderer whose tender is not accepted and to the successful tenderers on payment into the Colonial Treasury of the sum tendered and accepted.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the highest or any tender, and reserves to itself the option of accepting FOR ALL OR ANY PART of the tender.
