made (whether under Part I of this Scheme or otherwise) on account of his disablement: or

the wife. unmarried wife, eligible child or dependant of that detained person (whether under Part I of this Scheme or otherwise) on account of the disablement of that wife, unmarried wife, eligible child or dependant,

the Minister may deduct the whole or such part as he may think fit of that other allowance from the available part of any detention allowance which may be paid during a period during which that other allowance was paid or is payable, or from any allowance for that child which has been or may be paid during that period, so, however, that the amount deducted shall not exceed the difference between the detention allowance which might have been awarded in respect of that period if that detained person had throughout that period had no wife. unmarried wife, eligible child or dependant, and the available part of the detention allowance. which has been or may be awarded in respect of that period.

26. If a mariner or member of the pilotage or light Allowances vessel services of the female sex is detained, there may be for detained awarded in respect of the whole or any part of the period of the female detention of that mariner or member, to or for the benefit of sex. that mariner or member, allowances of such amounts, and payable at such times and on such conditions as the Minister may consider appropriate in the case of that mariner member, having regard to her sex and position, the provisions of this Part of this Scheme, and the difference between the respective benefits provided under Part I of this Scheme for mariners and members of the pilotage or light vessel services of the male and female sex.

27. Any general conditions governing the grant, issue Application and administration of awards of pension to members of the of general Naval Forces, and their widows, children or dependants, shall conditions. apply in relation to the awards under this Part of this Scheme in like manner as they apply in relation to awards of such pensions so far as they do not conflict with the provisions of this Part of this Scheme and subject to such modifications and exceptions as the Minister may direct having regard to the provisions and general purposes of this Part of this Scheme and any differences between the circumstances existing in the case of members of the Naval Forces and the circumstances existing in the case of detained persons.

28. Awards of pensions, gratuities and allowances under Awards this Scheme may be made provisionally or upon any other Scheme may basis and for such period and amount and at such a rate (not be made exceeding the period, amount or rate authorized by this provisionally Scheme in the case of that award) as the Minister may think fit.

29. The Minister may at any time review any award Minister's made by him under this Scheme, and if it appears to him power to that by reason of any mistake of fact, any change in circum- awards. stances or for any other reason whatsoever it is expedient so to do, he may vary that award or cancel that award, with or without making a fresh award, so. however, that no pension, gratuity or allowance shall be increased to a rate or amount exceeding the rate or amount authorized under this Scheme in the case of that pension, gratuity or allowance.
