his death is directly attributable or the date of the com- mencement of any detention to which his death is directly attributable;

(i) any reference in the Naval Order to a child shall, in relation to a mariner of the male sex, and in relation 10 a member of the pilotage or light vessel services of the male sex, have the same meaning as it has by virtue of the Naval Order in relation to a member of the Naval Forces of the male sex except that, in paragraph (12) of Article 2 of the Naval Order, for any reference to a date specified in sub- paragraph (1) or sub-paragraph (ii) of that paragraph there shall be substituted-

-

(i) in relation to a mariner or member of the pilotage or light vessel services who has become disabled, the date on which he sustained the war injury to which his disablement is directly attributable or the date of the commencement of the detention to which his disablement is directly attribut- able, and

(ii) in relation to a mariner or a member of the pilotage or light vessel services who has died, the date on which he sustained the war injury to which his death is directly attributable or the date of the commencement of the detention to which his death is directly attributable;

(any condition or requirement in the Naval Order to the effect that one person shall be dependent on another person, shall, in relation to a mariner or a member of the pilotage or light vessel services whose death is directly attributable to a war injury sustained by him or to his deten- tion, be construed as a condition or requirement that the dependent person shall have received genuine, regular and substantial support or benefit from that mariner or member during the period commencing six months before the date on which that mariner or member sustained that war injury or before the date of the commencement of that period of detention, as the case may be, and ending on the date of the death of that mariner or member (but excluding any period of detention of that mariner or member) or for such lesser period as the Minister may direct or prescribe in any special case, or class of case;

(k) any condition or requirement in the Naval Order that the husband of a woman member of the Naval Forces shall have been in receipt of genuine, regular and substantial support or benefit from that member continuously from any date, shall, in relation to a mariner or member of the pilotage or light vessel services of the female sex who has become disabled, be construed as a condition or requirement that he shall have been in receipt of genuine, regular and substantial support or benefit from that mariner or member continuously (except during any period of detention of that mariner or member) from a date which (unless the Minister otherwise determines in any special case or class of case) shall be not less than six months prior to the date on which that mariner or member sustained the war injury to which her disablement is directly attributable, or to the date of the commencement of the detention to which her disablement is directly attributable;

(1) any condition or requirement in the Naval Order that a wife shall fulfil the conditions as to the date of her marriage laid down in paragraph (6) of Article 2 of the Naval Order, shall, in relation to the wife of a mariner or a member of the
