No. 1037.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. ARTHUR GRENFELL CLARKE to be Deputy Clerk of Councils, with effect from 8th November, 1939.

No. 1038.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. MARTIN GEORGE O'CONNOR, B.A., to act as Principal, Queen's College, during the secondment to the Censorship Department of Mr. FRANCIS JOHN DE ROME, M.B.E., B.Sc., or until further notice, with effect from 18th September, 1939.

No. 1039. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under section 4 of the Midwives Ordinance, 1910, Ordinance No. 22 of 1910, to appoint Dr. DORASAMY KUMARA- SAMY PILLAI, to be a Member of the Midwives Board for a term of three years, with effect from the 2nd November, 1939.
