No. 946.-It is hereby notified that the Honourable Mr. THOMAS HENRY KING resumed duty as Commissioner of Police and Chief Officer, Fire Brigade, on 14th October, 1939.

No. 947. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. EDMUND COLIN LUSCOMBE to be an Assistant Superintendent of Police, with effect from the 6th October, 1939.

No. 948.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under instructions from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to appoint Mr. WILLIAM WOODWARD, B.Sc., (Eng.), (B'ham), M. Inst. C.E., Chartered Civil Engineer, to be Waterworks Engineer, with effect from 31st July, 1939.

No. 949. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under instructions from the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to appoint Commander THOMAS CHARLES STIFF, R.D., R.N.R. (Retired), to be Assistant Harbour Master, Hong Kong, with effect from 25th February, 1939.

No. 950.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. G. S. KENNEDY-SKIPTON as Special Commissioner to inquire into the possibilities of agricul- tural extension in the Colony, with effect from 16th October, 1939.

No. 951.-Ilis Excellency the Governor has been pleased to recognize Mr. Duco GERRIT EDUARD MIDDELBURG, Acting Netherlands Consul-General at Hong Kong, as being in charge of German interests in the Colony.

No. 952.-The King's Exequatur empowering Mr. D. G. E. MIDDELBURG to act as Consul for the Netherlands at Hong Kong, has received His Majesty's signature.
