WHEREAS by section 2 of the Emergency Regulations Ordinance, 1922, it is provided, among other things, that on any occasion which the Governor in Council may consider to be an occasion of emergency or public danger, he may make any regulations whatsoever which he may consider desirable in the public interest:
AND WHEREAS the Governor in Council considers that such an occasion of emergency or public danger continues to exist :
NOW THEREFORE, by virtue and in exercise of the powers conferred by the said section 2 of the Emergency Regulations Ordinance, 1922, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Governor in Council hereby amends regulation 37 (1) made under the said section 2 relating to SQUATTERS AND DESTITUTES, and published in Government Notification No. 902 in the Gazette of the 25th November, 1938, as follows :—
Amendment.
Regulation 37 (1) is amended by the insertion of the words or the Director of Public Works" after the words "the Commissioner of Police ”.

(QUARANTINE AND
ORDINANCE No. 7 of 1936.
PREVENTION OF DISEASE).
Pursuant to Regulation 4 of the Quarantine (Measures on Departure) Regulations, 1939, published in the Government Gazette Extraordinary of the 28th day of June, 1939, as G.N. No. 522, the Governor in Council makes the following declaration:
The declaration published as Government Notification No. 523 in the Government Gazette Extraordinary of the 28th day of June, 1939, regarding the application of the provisions of regulation 3 (b) and (c) of the said regulations to ships bound for Macao is hereby suspended.
