To the Owner of Marine Lot No.431.

No. 887.-Take notice that a portion of the above Lot to be known as Section A being the area coloured pink on a plan deposited in the Land Office, is required for a public purpose and will be resumed on the expiration of one month from the date of the posting of this notice on the said land and that thereupon such compensation will be paid as may be awarded in the manner provided by the Crown Lands Resumption Ordinance, 1900, as amended by the Crown Lands Resumption Amendment Ordinance, 1930, and further take notice that you are hereby called upon to nominate a member to serve on the Board of Arbitrators to determine the amount of compensation to be paid in respect of such resumption and that in the event of your failing to nominate a member to serve on the Board within oue week after the date of the expiration of this notice then the Chairman of the Board may nominate a member to serve on your behalf.

No. 888.-It is hereby notified for the information of Owners and Occupiers of tenements that, under the provisions of the Rating Ordinance No. 6 of 1901, Rates for

the Fourth Quarter, 1939, are payable in advance on or before the 31st October, 1939.

If any person shall fail to pay such Rates on or before the 30th November, 1939, proceedings will be taken in the Supreme Court for their recovery without further

notice.

No refund of Rates in respect of vacant tenements will be granted unless such Rates have been paid during and within the month of October, 1939, nor unless application is made for such refund within fifteen days from the expiration of the Quarter.

In order to ensure correct service in future, Owners and Occupiers of tenements are requested kindly to fill in particulars of their permauent addresses on the space provided for this purpose on the reverse side of the Notices for the Fourth Quarter, 1939.
