In exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Emergency Powers (Colonial Defence) Order in Council, 1939, and all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Governor makes the following regulations, which shall be inserted in and shall form part of the Defence Regulations, 1939, published as Government Notification 703 in the Gazette of 26th August, 1939:-

General and supplementary.
69.-(1) The competent authority, if he considers it Inquiries. desirable for the exercise of any of his powers under Parts V and VI of these regulations that an inquiry should be held into any particular matter, may direct the holding of an inquiry into that matter by such person and at such place as the authority may determine.
