COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.
It is hereby notified for general information that His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint the following Board, to be called the Prices Board, for the purpose of giving advice and assistance to the Controller of Food and the Controller of Stores in matters relating to the control under the Defence Regulations. 1939, of prices at which food, coal or other fuel may be sold :-
The Hon. the Financial Secretary, Chairman.
The Controller of Food.
The Controller of Stores.
Philip Stanley Cassidy. Esq.
Lo Man Kin, Esq.
David Kelvin-Stark, Esq., Secretary.
By His Excellency's direction, all matters relating to such control shall stand referred to the Prices Board and the Controllers of Food and of Stores before exercising their powers in relation to any matter so referred shall, unless in their opinion the matter is urgent, receive and consider the report of the Prices Board with respect to the matter in question.

By order of His Excellency the Governor dated the 7th day of September, 1939, the Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation were appointed liquidators of the undermentioned firms :-
