3. Notwithstanding anything contained in Ordinance No. for printing 5 of 1936, the provisions of this Ordinance shall apply to the Ordinances comprised in the Ordinances of Hong Kong (1937 edition), and the repeals, deletions, substitutions and other amendments directed to be made by this Ordinance or by the Schedule thereto shall be made in the said Ordinances in the manner indicated, and the said Ordinances are hereby authorized to be printed as so amended and shall be construed and enforced accordingly.

4. The Legislative Council may by resolution add to, alter or amend any of the provisions of this Ordinance or of the Schedule thereto by means of one or more Supplementary Schedules, and every such Supplementary Schedule shall be deemed to be part of this Ordinance.

5. Except as otherwise expressly provided and without prejudice to the generality of the powers conferred on the editor by Ordinance No. 51 of 1936, wherever in any Ordin- ance any expression occurs which contains a reference to any enactment whatsoever or to any portion of any enactment or to any form prescribed in connexion therewith, the editor

may-

(1) omit the words "of this Ordinance

to this Ordinance", "of this section of this sub-section of this Part", "hereto", "hereof", and words of like import;

(2) adopt a convenient standard form for such references. and make formal alterations therein;

(3) if the enactment to which reference is made has been repealed and replaced by some other provision, substitute a reference to that other provision,

and such alteration or substitution shall be deemed to have been made by this Ordinance.

6. The Law Revision Ordinance, 1937, is repealed: Provided that notwithstanding such repeal the amendments authorized by that Ordinance to be made in the Ordinances passed during the year 1901 and set out in the Schedule to Ordinance No. 27 of 1937 as items 59 to 65 and in the Table to the said Schedule shall be made in the said Ordinances and shall have effect as if they had been included in the Schedule to this Ordinance.

7. This Ordinance shall come into operation by pro- clamation of the Governor, which shall not be issued before the second of the proclamations referred to in section 9 (2) of Ordinance No. 51 of 1936. and which may form part of such proclamation.
