Notice of Commencement of the Ordinance.

In exercise of the power vested in me by Section 1 (2) of the Naval Volunteer and Defence Ordinance, No. 25 of 1939, 1. Sir GEOFFRY ALEXANDER STAFFORD NORTHCOTE, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies and Vice- Admiral of the same, by this notice do appoint the First day of August, 1939, as the date on which the Naval Volunteer and Defence Ordinance. No. 25 of 1939, shall come into operation.
