No. 8.-His Excellency the Governor has approved the following relinquishment of commission in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from 15th December, 1938.

No. 10.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. ERNEST HILLAS WILLIAMS to be a temporary additional judge of the Supreme Court, with effect from 21st December, 1938, until he resumes the office of Crown Counsel.

No. 11.-It is hereby notified that Mr. ERNEST HILLAS WILLIAMS resumed duty as Crown Counsel on 30th December, 1938.

No. 12. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under section 9 (4) of the Liquors Consolidation Ordinance, 1931, Ordinance No. 36 of 1931, Messrs. HUGH BLACKWELL LAYARD DOWBIGGIN, O.B.E., J.P., and CYRIL CHAMPKIN, J.P., to be members of the Licensing Board for a further period of three years, with effect from 10th December, 1938.
