Alteration in Character of Light.
THE alteration in the character of the Light at Gopalpore mentioned in Notice to Mariners No. 30 of 1918 will take place on the 15th October, 1918, from which date the present Fixed White Light will be discontinued.

Position.-Latitude 19° 15′ 07′′ N.
Longitude 84° 54′ 19′′ N.
Character of Light.-White Flashing Acetylene Light giving a quick flash
about every five seconds.
Description of Tower.-To be exhibited from the top of a large white building on the shore (called Minchins building) about 270 yards to the south-ward of the Port Flagstaff.
Height and Range.—About 80 feet above High water. Range 12 miles.
Arc of Illumination.-Visible from 213° through W., to 57°.

APPROACHES TO THE WHANGPOO-QUARANTINE ANCHORAGE.
Quarantine Upper Buoy to be Discontinued.
NOTICE is hereby given that on or about 5th October, 1918, the Quarantine Upper Buoy, marking the upper limit of the Quarantine Anchorage and the northern side of the channel, approaches to the Whangpoo, Yangtze River, will be permanently discontinued.
